Especially when this squad started the season so hot. Which, in retrospect, was especially flattering. #rctid
The worst thing about this is that is would be in-character for Timbers leadership to use the four playoff games as a fig leaf to avoid having to make hard changes in the offseason.

On balance, 1.29 PPG in the regular season and 1.0 PPG in the postseason is mediocre at best. #RCTID

I'm much more of a "team goal" guy than an "individual banger" guy but this shit's stayed with me for 15 years.

Still my favorite thunderbastard in MLS history. Has a level of intentionality to it that few goals have ever matched.

What a player, what a career.

The 2025 Portland Timbers! #rctid
So to recap, within five minutes the Timbers saw:
- Antony miss a golden 1:1 chance
- K. Miller put another golden chance high
- Jimer Fory get sent off with two yellow cards within two minutes

Gut punch. #RCTID

A note from MLS:

There will be no extra time in tomorrow night's wild card round games. Straight to penalties if tied after regulation.

happy 99th birthday to the opening of Providence Park. didn’t quite reach this claim of 100,000 seats, but its longevity is a testament to a lack of funds for replacements and begrudging acceptance 🙃

also grateful for images like this so the It WaS bUiLt FoR bAsEbAlL crowd doesn’t get started again

1. Culture (do players like playing for you? Do they buy in?)
2. Tactical clarity (a mediocre gameplan executed w/ conviction will kick the shit out of a perfect gameplan executed w/ confusion)
3. Player development (there are no finished products in MLS; go to coach improvement)
What makes a good MLS coach? There are a couple of unicorns, but otherwise I can’t figure it what I should want for my team.

BREAKING: Columbus Crew midfielder and MLS legend Darlington Nagbe is retiring after the 2025 MLS season, per sources.

Nagbe, 35, is a four-time MLS Cup winner (2015, 2018, 2020, 2023) with three clubs (Portland, Atlanta, Columbus).

One of MLS's best-ever midfielders 👏
