This survey only reached a narrow selection of respondents. Notably cut anybody who has been unemployed for too long. Mostly just ppl who can afford to attend GDC. Many laid off before 2025 are still looking!

48% said they haven't found a new job, and the survey admits these numbers are likely an undercount.

Fun fact: the survey would boot you out if you'd been out of work >2 years.

My wife sometimes gets “word salad”—where she means to say one word but instead says a completely different unrelated word.

Today, she got distracted after making a lemon drink. Then she remembered it and meant to say “Oh! My lemon drink!” but instead said “Oh! My harpoon!”
