I think I’m actually gonna be back in town for “thanksgiving” (a holiday which, of course, does not exist here) and not driving back from Croatia and I will have a car so maybe I drive all the way to Bingo where they might have cranberries. But I can’t cook a turkey it would be a waste.

I made a huge pot of chili and I put like a teaspoon of weakass chili powder in it and my fucking husband is just like “this is so spicy”. Like. It fucked him up. And I’m not one to overreact but the divorce should be final in a few days

There’s a huge “Woo” element here in BiH. Part of that comes from the fact these are ancient, coherent culture(s) with their own existing healing traditions, and part of it is driven by the global commodification and enshitification of healthcare.

Anyway, I recognize that there is a lot of awful shit out there, but truly you have to understand that (a) Western medicine is not the be all and end all of the entire world and (b) we have some huge honking holes in our ability to treat people, and people are going to try everything they can.
