In today's Eugene Weekly (@eugeneweekly.com) Slant, the Eugene Police has said that, since their public information department wearing press markers "prompted questions and some concerns, which was never our intention, we will switch his wording on the back to 'videographer.'"

It reads: •"Longtime local videographer Tim Lewis, of Picture Eugene, was documenting police activity at Washington-Jefferson Park when he was aggressively approached by a Eugene Police Departmnent officer advising him if he didn't back away, "I am going to take you to jail." Lewis says he was troubled not only by that interaction but also by seeing another who was with EPD as a public information officer but wearing a vest emblazoned"press," filming closely. LOcal news outletDoublesided Media was the first to report on Lewis' video of the interaction. EPD said at the time that the PIO was "capturing video forpurposes of sending post-operation footage tomedia. People don't always know what PIO stands for, so 'Press' identifies him as someonenot involved in making arrests and not a policeofficer." Eugene Weekly followed up with EPD who tell us, “We have had incidences of people innon-police units being challenged and put inprecarious situations when people thought theywere police officers." However, since the incident "prompted questions and some concerns, which was never our intention, we will switch his wording on the back to 'videographer.'"

AI isn't acceptable because "most students already use it anyway." That's a dumb rationale for using and teaching it in school. Notice they never credibly say it will improve students comprehension, critical thinking, and application skills.
