Kare 11 local news just read, in full, this statement from Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti.

"Please get the truth out about our son."

With this morning’s hideous comments about uk troops, I’m starting to wonder whether the Trump connection might start to wear on Reform’s poll leads à la what happened to the Canadian Conservatives. Doesn’t help them that Badenoch is (very slightly) starting to look a bit tougher post-Jenrick

I can’t even remotely justify spending £1k on this thing but good lord do I love the sounds it makes
After years and years the Korg Phase8 is finally out. I did a video on it where I treated it *respectfully* but it turns out it likes to be treated *weird*.

Another day, another version of Quake ticked off. This time it’s the Nintendo 64 version, recreated for the remaster and brought into CRT filtered, 30 fps majesty by me tinkering with the settings. It’s a good version of the game, and now I can say I beat The Pain Maze in one go, which was rough.

Beat Quake II: The Reckoning - was much better than I expected, although it definitely loses steam at the end, in both level design and enemy diversity. Off to play the PSX version of the OG next!

Peace through tyranny
Bessent on Greenland: "Peace through strength. Make it part of the US and there will not be a conflict because the US right now, we're the hottest country in the world, we're the strongest country in the world. Europeans project weakness. The US projects strength."

In a nice world, Trump chucking tariffs on a bunch of countries to force the annexation of Greenland would finally focus minds against him, both domestically and internationally

In the real world, it probably means Greenland will be in US hands by next Saturday.

As well as the Blokees Wheels, I had my first actual Hasbro Transformer of the year show up yesterday - Windcharger! He’s alright - the bot mode’s good looks are countered by how fiddly he feels, but the transformation and car mode made it a worthwhile pickup.

It felt inevitable, but it’s still really really funny
BREAKING Kemi Badenoch has sacked Robert Jenrick from the shadow cabinet, removed the whip and suspended his party membership.

She says she was "presented with clear, irrefutable evidence that he was plotting in secret to defect" to Reform

A box of Blokees Wheels has arrived for me, so I’m going to do what must be done and build them.

Today in matters local to me: an incredibly eyebrow-raising council defection

As powerful and necessary as this is, I would love for it to be followed by concrete action (aka making them fuck off, as difficult as that may be)

My big third party Metroplex has arrived. Early impressions are ‘I don’t think his arm is supposed to be separated from his body out of the box’ and ‘how on earth do I get this sorted out’

Neither of the coffees I drank this morning gave me as much of a jolt as this pinging on my phone 🤯

It’s 2026. This year would have to be spectacularly awful to rival the horrendous summer I had in 2025, so hopefully all will be well. I’ll definitely be drinking lots of coffee, because my mum bought me a coffee machine.

Griff is understandably not thrilled with the fireworks, so I am helping him with the rather paradoxical solution of ‘electronic dance music’

The Peter Rabbit film is a movie of two halves - on one hand it isn’t an even remotely great Beatrix Potter movie. But I will admit that I was laughing at the deranged amounts of slapstick violence and one liners throughout

RIP Ken Downie. I don’t think there’s a day where I don’t think about this record.
