Update - the actual text of the EO seems to indicate that the “This mechanism shall include the use of private sector pro-bono assistance for such law enforcement officers” refers to legal representation (aka the private firms he strong armed) and will likely be used to protect bad cops.

If the IRS deprives Harvard of its tax-exempt status, that's very bad for Harvard but it's also a catastrophe for the IRS. Instead of a neutral agency that enforces tax law, it will become a tool of partisan warfare. It may never recover.

This was 100% predictable (and predicted). The big firms that capitulated will cave and do whatever Trump wants. He owns them and will humiliate them for the next 3+ years.
