Yes. This response looks almost exactly like the response to the killing of Soleimani, and is clearly an attempt by Iran to Do Something™️ without necessarily causing escalation. Now we wait and see how the US reacts.
Iran telegraphing its launch against a US base in Qatar—0 casualties—suggests Iran is more interested in saving face, and wants to avoid escalation.
US could take that as an offramp, as when Iran fired on a US base in Iraq in 2020 and killed 0.
But unlike 2020, Israel is actively bombing Iran now.
