Agree completely. Dem voters and states are showing up and showing us how to fight back. Dem senators are showing us how they’ll fold. “Surrender Caucus” is absolutely right. Shameful betrayal.
I zoom in on the decision by the “surrender caucus” to clear the Senate filibuster over the shutdown, then zoom out to talk about what it means for the work ahead. Write up in the replies.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

I asked Georgetown law prof David Super wtf is going on with this latest demand for states to claw back benefits already sent out.
He says the law doesn't allow for this, and if the USDA is mad that states already sent out SNAP money, too bad—they were following USDA's own guidance. Full comments:

Unimaginable in my country, until it became, not only imaginable, but tragically commonplace. Daily, I feel hatred unlike anything that I thought possible. I know I’m not alone and the extraordinary self-control that neighbors and activists in the besieged cities show is extraordinary. & strategic.

Yes, I do remember. And that President read - for pleasure- too and enjoyed talking with authors, educators and thinkers (overlapping categories) and they with him. We’ve gone from the sublime to the (criminally) ridiculous.
Do you remember when the White House had good taste?
