Literally all DEMS have to do is hold the line. The GOP will cave. We do not negotiate with domestic terrorists who use hunger as a weapon against their own people.

If DEMS trade away the ACA for SNAP, we will lose the midterms.

The most powerful word in the English language is “No.”

I voted by mail because I’m out of town. It angers me that a 34 time convicted felon calls my vote into question.

At dinner last night with my brother I hadn’t finished my meal and was planning to bring the rest home. He said, “You should eat that. There are children starving in America.” #SNAP #republicanshutdown

You know how when someone dies and we write, RIP? We should start using the opposite for those we don’t want to rest in peace.

I submit: RIH (rot in hell) for your approval. It should only be used for the truly evil like:

Jeffrey Epstein, RIH
Joseph Goebbels, RIH

Producer: Here are some ideas.

Susan: Thanks! (These are good notes.)

Mestiza novel edit so far:

260K words -> 118K words

I already know there are bits that need filling in. My goal is to keep it under 120K. Still, I’m making progress. #booksky #writing

There was a No Kings protest in Shreveport. That’s Speaker Johnson’s district. #nokings

I walked to a nearby mailbox to mail my ballot. As I was walking away, a man approached & commented how he was on his way to do the same.

I said, “It’s a good day to vote.”

He agreed and said, “Tomorrow’s going to be a good day, too.”

I agreed.

It’s 2025 and we spoke in coded language.

I’m thrilled my TV pilot MESTIZA has been selected for the Kosice International Film Festival in December. Only 25 films and screenplays were chosen out of over 5500 entries. #scriptsky #writing

I got a good email today. I have to keep it under wraps until next week. Have I mentioned how bad I am at keeping secrets? #scriptsky

After more than 7 months and 6 days since I resumed writing the novel, the first draft of MESTIZA is dine. At 260,275 words, it’s time to make big cuts. 😎 #Booksky #writing photo credit: Michael G. Imber Architects

257,000 words. Egads! I’ve been struggling these past few days because I knew a thing needs to happen but I wasn’t sure *how* it would happen. I knew I just had to show up and the answer would come to me. Today it did. I reckon I have one chapter before the big thing & the end. #booktok #writing

And as The Guardian reported today, this is under orders from Stephen Miller. We have high ranking Navy officers taking orders on use of lethal force from the White House Chief of Staff. This should be the top story on every news outlet.
yeah they're just murdering random people on these boats
I think the Trump admin assumed no one would try to find out who the people on the boats they blew up really were

So far today, Chuck Schumer has said his strategy for preventing Trump sending troops into blue cities is to win over Republican senators (!) while Hakeem Jeffries praised Eric Adams's courage and authenticity (!!) while refusing to endorse Mamdani. Again.

These two gotta go.

I’m beginning to understand what clout chasing looks like and it makes me sad. Some people give up their own dreams in order to hang onto coattails as if being close to success will fill the void. Maybe it does. 🤷‍♀️

The Discipline of a Thousand Words

I’ve been writing at least 1,000 words a day since February 7th. Here’s what I’ve learned:

A daily quota is a promise to myself.

Some days I can meet my quota in an hour or less. Other days, it takes hours and lots of distractions and snacks.

I was reminded today of William Goldman’s book Which Lie Did I Tell? While I like the book and recommend it, I’m usually reminded of it because someone does a bad job keeping up with their own lies. 🙄
