Ah yes, the “everything I write is shit” part of the ms. Wondering when that was going to show up. Cool. Cool.

Finally let myself watch The Apprentice last night. Sebastian Stan was outstanding. So glad he’s getting his flowers, totally deserves them.

Good movie. I can’t help but wonder if our lives would be different if DT had never met Roy Cohn. If Cohn hadn’t been so attracted to him - gassing him up

The character development in the first Thor movie was so good! It’s the best Thor movie by far, and I will never forgive the MCU for turning him into a joke.

Dammit. RIP

After Jackson 5, KISS was my love and obsession. 😢

So interesting how this vilification of pronouns has slipped into fiction, namely 3rd person deep pov.

Like, it’s ok to use “he/she” people. Folks don’t usually think of themselves as their own name.

If you’re in someone’s head, it’s ok to use he/she when referring to them!

Since it’s been a minute since I’ve promoted my books on here, I figure it’s time. I suuuck at self-promotion - this is me working on it!

I have two books in a series out: The first is Coming Darkness. The book centers around Lucifer and his lover/mate Kai. 1/

This. And it’s infuriating.
Another day of living in the find out phase and I didn’t fuck around. I hate it here…

No one, and I mean NO ONE, in Hollywood is talking about Tilly Norwood except over drinks for a chuckle. Actors are such an important part of the creative process - you want an actor who can surprise you every take, not one whose performance you dial up and down on a laptop. This is an ad campaign.

Internet outage. They say we should be up & running by Wed at 5am. Too bad it’s 4pm Tuesday.

It’s times like these when I realize just how dependent on the Internet I am. My work, entertainment all wrapped up in a thing vulnerable to outages. 😑😫

What even was Superman? He spends the entire movie being victimized. Everybody else actually did the work!

If this was the next Superman movie after Dawn of Justice, maybe, because it tracks.

But as a re-introduction (reboot? whatever) no, just no.

Thunderbolts* was the best superhero movie this summer. Seen it multiple times & I enjoy it more every time.

The message works on multiple levels. What speaks so much truth to me is the psychological.

Past few years I’ve been hearing about shadow work & how everyone needs to do it & I ignored it.

*spoiler*

Love how once Reed found out about the baby, he “cleaned out” crime in the city. Before he was all “meh, not really my problem is it?” But suddenly he gives a shit.

The only highly acclaimed superhero hero movie this summer I liked was Thunderbolts. I gotta stop listening to you people.
So uh hot take but Fantastic Four First Steps is about a group of wealthy cishet white people who use their money and nepotism to get superpowers and then use those superpowers to basically take over the world, complete with media propaganda.

Finally saw Superman, and you know what? I don’t know how I feel about it. I gotta watch it again.

Meantime, finally getting around to watching The Flash and holy hell this movie is a hot mess. Who is the audience? Who thought this version of The Flash needed his own movie?

So I guess The Rapture™️ is Wednesday?

You know I got to thinking, how AWESOME would that be? Like all these insufferable mfs just GONE. The govt is suddenly empty. We could have new elections, maybe universal childcare, healthcare, a reversal of climate change!

Fingers crossed! 🤞🏾

Been reading a lot of Winter Soldier flavored fic lately. I love how fic just hits the spot when I can’t decide what I want to read. Anyway, a bunch of tips and thoughts are in my head re: fic writing. Thought I’d do a thread, but since my blog is gathering dust, maybe that’s a better option.

One of the first Twilight Zone eps I ever saw. Disarmed completely and hopelessly in love with Robert Redford. RIP
Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today

1. Defensive tactics: how not to make it easy for them

FWIW i’ve switched to @bookshop.org for ebooks and Libro for audio books and with very few exceptions had the exact same experience as Amazon without the greasy aftertaste. Highly recommended.

When you find out about Libro.fm, an alternative to Amazon-owned Audible that’s 100% employee owned, a Certified B Corporation, and shares profits with 4,000+ independent bookshops 😍

It turns out that protecting hate speech did not create the conditions to protect other kinds of speech; instead, it protected hate and allowed hate movements to take over all the institutions of that might have defended the rest of us.

You don’t “learn” from a chatbot. You consume. There’s a difference.

They’re spewing slop and people are gobbling it up (and eroding their intelligence in the process).

Misinformation is everywhere. Please don’t rely on a chatbot for anything important.

They can’t replace real human connection

If you think prohibiting people on SNAP from purchasing “junk food” is good, you’re clearly more interested in punishing poor & disabled people than you are in healthy living.

The rich can eat as much junk as they want, but the poor must cook for themselves or go hungry?
