Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance had already become a media event.

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.

At this point, it’s just better to accept that they want to be bad people. This is a choice.
the first choice is literally what Jesus would teach, i feel like i'm losing my mind

I didn’t get to watch much of the game but it looked like Josh McDaniels was surprisingly outmatched

He only values the safety of the agents. Everyone else is SOL.
REP. STEIL: Some Dems demands put at risk the safety of members of law enforcement

CNBC: You mean like taking off their masks and having a badge that shows who they are?

STEIL: Well, they're known to their supervisors

CNBC: No other law enforcement officials in the US are allowed to wear masks

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies.

It was a "sideshow," I was told.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

Remember when Lucious Fox told Bruce Wayne he was overstepping his bounds when he turned all of Gotham’s cell phones into a sonar?
So uh Ring just up and said they've got a huge centralized private surveillance network they can leverage all at once huh

Do I condone body shaming? No.

But does Jason Whitlock deserve this? Yes.
elle no longer has to worry about keeping it cute for disney and is letting the choppa sing!

It’s really pissing me off that within a 25 year period, American citizens are willingly participating in the surveillance state by putting cameras all over their homes and connecting them to the internet

You can guarantee that football will always have a strong sense of conservatism in its ranks. The places that typically produce the most football talent in America are similarly steeped in conservative Christianity and have a history of less than accepting outlooks on “outsiders.”
sure, all right man

Whole performance was a statement. And a very clear one.
What’s blowing me is white folks were expecting Bad Bunny to come right out and say “F*ck Ice.” (Which he did a Sunday ago, by the way, at the Grammys)

Because of that, it “wasn’t political.” But that’s why there are Two Americas.

“This isn’t white enough for me”

The entirety of their political plan can be summed up with that sentence. Well that and making sure the wealthy and the grifters get paid.
Italians, your white card has been revoked. Stefani Germanotta is a perfidious latin

Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

The other halftime show was the one that showed the current values of America.

The real one showed what we should all be aiming for.
