“one of the central paradoxes of twenty-first-century capitalist urban planning: planners and policymakers are expected to make cities simultaneously more profitable and more affordable. These two pursuits are fundamentally in tension with each other”

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was.

You made a difference—so much of a difference.

Rest always in peace, and always in power.

Alice Wong, your voice (written and spoken) lives on. rest in power
Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

how long did it take to reunite separated families from the first term? take that and multiply it by 100? we need an accounting of every single person they’ve abducted
Most of Trump’s deportation campaign is inaccessible because after arrests are made, it is moving quickly, far from public view. For every person arrested whose name and story we’ve learned, there are thousands we haven’t heard about @caitlindickerson.bsky.social www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Amid the president’s fast-moving deportation campaign, the stories of most people being swept up are missed.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

It is an abdication of the Court's duty to ensure that equitable standards apply equally to all litigants—to transgender people and the Government alike." 26 billionaires spent over $22 million to beat Zohran Mamdani.

Why? Because regular people came together around an agenda that prioritized making life easier for more people. It beat big money.

That is how we win.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com

“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

The Senate is still meeting and holding votes as normal despite the shutdown.

The House has not held a vote in a month and a half now solely because Mike Johnson wants to prevent the release of the Epstein Files.

They've killed our government to save their pedophiles.
A quick reminder that the House is not in session because Speaker Johnson CANCELED it, not because of the current shutdown.
