I went off long term sick with Long Covid from Covid I caught at work because they got bored of asking employees with Covid to not come in maybe, and eventually resigned due to ill health, and I didn’t even get a get well / leaving card.
happy sunday, remember that you are completely expendable to your employer and that when you die they will forget you ever existed within weeks and easily replace you

“Baudin’s or bauxite – we can’t have both”

It’s a stark warning … but Alcoa’s proposed expansions to its bauxite mining in WA’s jarrah forests will be catastrophic for the endangered Baudin’s black cockatoo.

every time there's political violence discourse i think about how jo cox was assassinated in broad daylight by a fascist who shouted "britain first" as he shot her, and now nine years later her party is dedicating every moment in power to placating the ideology of her murderer

FFS. This country is literally famous for its droughts. We already regularly have to be told to limit showers, use recycled water on gardens, turn off taps while brushing teeth... And they want us to spend our water budget on the lying plagiarism machine? REALLY?

Despite measles being declared eliminated in the US in 2000, annual measles cases have reached a 33-year high — and it's only July.

This is the tragic result of the spread of anti-vax disinformation, and will only get worse in the coming years because anti-vaxxers now lead our health agencies.

Just posted my longest review ever on my election blog. I had previously reviewed Fusion and its constituents favourably to varying degrees. There are many worse parties out there, but I felt I needed to explain at length why I think Fusion is a poor choice in 2025, especially for left-wing voters
Blatantly Partisan Party Review X (federal 2025): FUSION | Planet Rescue | Whistleblower Protection | Innovation
Running where: five states for the Senate (not TAS), plus a smattering of House seats across four states (not TAS or WA) Prior reviews: federal 2022 (which links to my past reviews of most constituent...

Animal Justice getting the final seat over Moermond (a total crackpot) is excellent. One Nation wins a second seat at the expense of the Liberals getting 11, and I'd rather a faceless Lib backbencher than an ON nutter, but that's not as bad as AJP beating Moermond is good, so overall I'm pleased
Final result for the WA Legislative Council is:

Labor 16
Liberal 10
Greens 4
Nats 2
On 2
LC
Christians
AJP

Thanks to some people in my Discord who attended the button push.

Apparently the AJP won the last seat.

The RBA should have delivered a rate cut today, from 4.1% to 3.85%.

“All the indicators have continued to move in the right direction since the last rate cut. Underlying inflation has now been below 3% for three straight months – so why wait?

Media release:
Rate hold more political than the cut we should have had
Today's decision to keep interest rates on hold is just as political as if the RBA had cut rates.

Not NYT minimizing covid for 5 years, creating a dangerous disinformation gap that anti vaxxers used to blame vaccines on what is clearly long covid & a rise of viral induced chronic health issues - creating the perfect conditions for someone with fringe beliefs to rise to power
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced a crucial nomination hearing on Wednesday where a panel of senators probed his past, often contentious remarks.

How did someone who’s considered on the fringe in many of his beliefs come to be picked for health secretary? Listen to "The Daily."
