I've magically stumbled into the world of the Professional Club DJ and kinda like it. Long suffering Minnesota Vikings fan (since '88). Former comic book reviewer, now in exile within a prison of his own longboxes.
If Los Ratones go out of LEC versus today after playing the first game of the day and relying on the results of 4 of the next 5 matches, then not only is LEC Versus cooked in terms of viewship, but then I'm genuinely not sure of the LEC's survival in terms of viewership through and beyond 2026.

Standard poor level of in-play reporting on the BBC website for the Radacanu vs Cirstea Transylvania final. Yes they've mentioned that Romanian, Cirstea is the crowd favourite, but have completely failed to mention that it's her home tournament, in her retirement year, so you know, MOTIVATION

I'm scared of needing to do detailed image analysis to tell what's real or not ourselves too.
That's the actual point, if you destroy the perception of reality, then you can do whatever you want.
i'm not scared of AI taking my job. i'm scared my parents won't be able to tell whats real or not anymore.

Oh good grief this is glorious; Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) watches Battlestar Galactica with her husband for the first time for the pair of them. Behind the scenes stories while you get a true reaction to the actual show. Brilliant www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK4w...

What it basically comes down to with businesses using AI imagery, is are you gonna fund an artist's groceries for a week? A month? Or are you putting meaningless fractions of a penny on a billionaire's hoarde?

The justification for these AI experiments is always “this stuff is not going away”. Well no because the tech giants lobbying for it have billions invested in the technology and they’ll do anything to make it mandatory www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Riot Games' esports production and leadership definitely have a nice problem to deal with ahead of them. Los Ratones a team of 'elder' veterans and streamers beating 4 European pro teams in a row in an invite tournament is going to have questions asked on why LR won't be in the Spring split

It's probably a result of a finer hand in curating who I follow here compared to 'the other place', but it definitely feels like the userbase on Bluesky is far keener and more enthusiastic to point out postive hints, tips and tricks involved in how this site works and functions.

For new bsky followers, remember there's an option to see tags by that user only instead of the whole site! Just click on the hashtag you see in their posts.

There are quite a few artists here, like myself, who use hashtags for art posts (in case you don't feel like going through the media tab).

"The UK creative industries — which contributed £125 billion to the economy in 2024 and supported 2.4 million jobs — are being destroyed by an AI sector that, whatever its long-term potential, contributed just £11 billion in the same year and supported only 85,000 jobs."

Dorks will be like "AI is expanding what’s possible and allowing storytellers to go places they simply couldn’t before" and then use it to recreate the year 1776, something that has been possible since the year 1776.

They still sell the hats at the store and everything.

My uncle is a 3D character modeler, he is insanely gifted. We were looking at an old pic of Lara Croft a while ago and I asked him if Lara will ever have triangle tits like this again

I will never forget his answer… "We can’t, we don’t know how to do it"

Thing is right, AI has been around for years in various forms and is used effectively for certain jobs in certain places and sectors.

Bullshit LLM AI which everyone keeps forcing onto people is not a fucking vital requirement in general life and should stop being paraded around as such. Fuck off.
BREAKING: Free AI training will be offered to every adult in the UK, with short courses to teach people how to use simple AI tools effectively in the workplace.

Just a few hours after celebrating Sal B's birthday, I got the news that Sal has passed away. An enormous loss for our industry and for all of us who knew and worked with him. Safe journeys, Sal. We'll miss you.
Sal Buscema turns 90 today. There's hardly a Marvel character Sal hasn't left his mark on, from Cap to the Hulk, Avengers to Thor. Working with Sal for two years on Spectacular Spider-Man remains a highlight of my career. And the best part? He's not just a great artist, he's a truly good guy.
