BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

RE: James Bond

Seriously, I'm not clear about all the confusion here. It's been a while since I've Bonded, but isn't the name James Bond something that's given, like the double-oh agent number? That's how we can have stories about agent James Bond going back 7 decades, isn't it?

Politically, this has been a real rollercoaster of a day, so I'm just going to make some tea and happily sit with this for a while...
SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Finished watching the 2nd episode of Pluribus, and that's twice now that I've had to completely change what I thought the show was going to be about.

Well played, Pluribus, well played.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is legitimately the global cultural phenomenon of 2025 and honestly there are far worse things to be a cultural touchstone this year than a trio of young women fighting literal soul-sucking hegemony through the power of their art
Oh crap, it's back at #1 in movies again today on Netflix too. That's awesome!

What the nice lady said. ☝️
In that note, Seattle folks: from now through spring when the cruise ships come back, Pike Place Market is heavily reliant on locals. Swing through to pick up some fish or some fruit or a book from one of the bookstores if you can. As an added bonus, you get this view all to yourself:

One, that's not how copyright works and there will be an entire battalion of IP lawyers who will be happy to correct Open AI of this misapprehension, likely to the tune of billions of dollars, and two, fuck this shitty thieving waste of proteins and lipids
Exclusive: OpenAI is planning to release a new version of its Sora video generator, which creates videos featuring copyrighted material unless copyright holders opt out of having their work appear.

We don't, there will be a new (and hopefully better) normal after this, that said, for the rest of our lives we'll have to be aware a non-trivial number of neighbors and fellows voted for actual fascism, and that's always going to be a bummer
How do we return to any semblance of normal after all this is said and done?

Come to Golden Age Collectables, in Seattle's Pike Place Market, for your hand sold copy of Black Cat #2!
When this happens, it's because retailers are enthusiastic about a book and hand-sell it to their customers. That's what makes a sleeper hit. Love you guys. Could not do any of this, ever, without you.
I don't know if people are aware of what a smash hit BLACK CAT #1 was...I am not seeing as much noise about it as I should, but it was Marvel's TOP-SELLING book for the month and everyone who read it loves it.

CONGRATULATIONS, @gwillow.me, you are AMAZING as always!

PS, don't forget to get one!
