this seems like a weirdly sexist headline: none of the women quoted in the article is "furious"; they are simply making reasoned arguments

surely it's finally time to try chaos with Ed Miliband
"Stability with Starmer or chaos with anyone else" might need a bit more work. This is a PM whose authority had been shredded by a series of policy U turns and now the decision to appoint Mandelson. Starmer won't be able to drive any meaningful change www.ft.com/content/c855... via @FT

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Oh no. RIP 🖤
Desperately sad news about Deborah Cameron today. She was such a brilliant, incisive presence in the world of linguistics and particularly language and gender. Don't know what else to say but I'm sure there will be many tributes paid to her and her work in the days to come.

to be fair, you can't imagine Liz Truss using the word "discombobulated"
🇻🇪 Trump on Venezuela: Two weeks ago, they saw weapons nobody had ever heard of. They weren’t able to fire a single shot at us.

They said, ‘What happened?’ Everything was discombobulated. They said, ‘We’ve got them in our sights, press the trigger,’ and nothing happened.

the thing is if you want a university orientated around the classical curriculum and the Great Books, St John's already exists! but what they wanted was somewhere where they could be intellectually fellated 24/7. this is the opposite of an actual classical education, which should be humbling.
This story is so funny because all these people including journalist writing it are such total fraudulent imitations of intellectuals that among them Niall Ferguson passes for a "mind"

"genAI" doens't "learn" (tech execs' term) since it has no brains. Instead, it stores and regurgitates - PLAGIARISM....

"many AI developers use a more technically accurate term when talking about these models: lossy compression."
New research presents the most compelling evidence yet that generative AI directly stores and reproduces material used to train it—a finding that could have massive legal consequences for the tech industry, Alex Reisner reports.
AI’s Memorization Crisis
Large language models don’t “learn”—they copy. And that could change everything for the tech industry.
