The proper role of government should be to allow everyone’s voices to be heard, and needs considered, when determining policy. Instead, our government seems to exist chiefly to ensure that nothing stands in the way of corporate profits, even if people might die and the environment gets destroyed.

The right have a belief, independent of any evidence (and inculcated into them by corporate stooges), that government regulations ruin everything, and if you just get rid of them, the Free Market will automatically lower prices while improving quality. This is magical thinking, and it’s bullshit.

Not only abolish ICE immediately, let’s round up every agent ever involved in an apprehension (especially ones where the detainee or bystanders were injured - or even killed) and toss each of them in jail without bond, and no access to a phone or a lawyer for at least a week. See how *they* like it.
