I’m mystified why this Beckham story is on the BBC news. The tabloids maybe, but there’s a million other more important stories that need telling right now.
Everytime I see a "why Brooklyn went nuclear" headline I do a double take.

Greens surge to joint highest polling as Reform support stalls
The Green Party have seen a jump in the polls as they closed the gap on Labour, the Tories and Reform.

Different view here in France - Trump doing everything he can to boost Macron's popularity.
[Q]:Have you invited Putin to be a member of the Board of Peace?

[Trump]:Yeah,he's been invited

[Q]:Do you have any response to Macron saying he will not join the Board of Peace?

[Trump]:Oh,did he say that?Well, nobody wants him because he's going to be out of office very soon…

The USA should not be able to participate in the world cup, let alone be part of hosting it, so yes I support those calling for a boycott.

Sport, especially football, brings people together. That unity matters. We must ensure the President's actions do not go unchallenged.

Agree 100%. Any capitulation to Trump and Starmer is finished.
If Starmer agrees to this, I think I will be the end of his premiership
As Trump threatens to raise tariffs on Britain over its stance on Greenland, his negotiators have also pressured the UK to accept the US standards regime.

The move could upset London's "reset" with Brussels.

Surely this talk of Putin on the Gaza Board of Peace is social media nonsense.

For a warmongering dictator, Bored of Peace would be a better fit.

And surely there is no way on earth that Blair would sit alongside him.

I've heard some dumb ideas and this one is right up there.

Thing is, Trump is sufficiently dumb it does make you wonder....🤔

Proud to say I was one of those 4.5 million.🙂
Data from the US National Travel and Tourism Office shows that 4.5 million fewer international visitors arrived in the US last year compared with 2024.

Keep pushing Zack - Farage knows he's weak when confronted with reason and facts.
Week by week - Laura Kuenssberg is interviewing the party leaders.

When I agreed to come on the show, I was told Nigel Farage was also doing it.

He's now pulled out - and they've sent the deputy instead.

The same Nigel Farage who's refusing to debate me.

A pattern emerging...

When you read that yet another Tory has 'defected' do you ever wonder if that might actually be a typo? Think about it.
January 17, 2026 at 4:20 PM
There's a lot of defecting going on right now. Be glad you didn't acquire a Tory.
January 17, 2026 at 4:17 PM
You're forgetting Iceland.
After he takes over Greenland, Trump will annexe Scotland and rename it Golf of America.

Strange how the wealth tax here in France hasn't made the wealthy leave. The point is, even after paying that extra tax, the wealthy are still wealthy.
And was great to hear when the Tory tried to reply "the wealthy will just leave...."

The audience gave the appropriate response to this nonsense.

They laughed. Proud of Huddersfield.
Off to a great start, @MothinAli BBC Any Questions says "people are fed up of the two party system.

They're looking for a pary to offer hope. They're looking for a party ready to take on billionaires.

A society where work pays. And a society where we tax wealth."

It baffles me that anyone would pay the slightest attention to anything Trump says about medical matters.
January 17, 2026 at 3:30 PM
Absolutely spot on. Reform really is no more than a trash can for Tory losers and fraudsters.
Farage has made a huge strategical mistake.💥 For the first time in a decade, he's lost control of the narrative. By pulling all these failed Tory ministers into Reform, he's completely destroyed his party's "outsider" image. He's turned Reform into the #ToryPartyToilet

That is a very big ‘If’.
If long COVID leads to Alzheimer's

And 3% of Brits have long COVID

Surely a good public health policy right now would be to protect more people from getting covid, developing long COVID, and in turn Alzheimer's?
