I can scroll up as well and see that it’s exactly what I said.

Buddy you just haven’t actually read anything we’ve said, I think. We already said that the textures were brought to their attention by the community and that they fixed them because of that response. You’re having a fake argument.

The thing is you’re actually agreeing with me but somehow don’t realize it. You’re just repeating what I said. They mistakenly left a couple AI textures from
early dev in the final build, a few posts pointed it out, then they went and fixed it almost immediately. End of story.

That’s some wild revisionist history. The first mention of AI textures in E33 was a Bsky post several months after it launched, and because it was rectified almost immediately, people stopped talking about it almost as fast. Discussion didn’t actually explode until *after* it won GOTY.

It went to Steam without the warning because the only thing AI-generated was a couple of textures the devs mistakenly missed. Then it was brought to their attention, and they replaced the textures with the ones that were meant to be there. It’s pretty cut and dry.
January 9, 2026 at 12:30 AM
It was a couple textures people found that they missed. Very easy mistake to make when you’re working with probably thousands. The fact there isn’t now an AI disclaimer on the game’s Steam page despite it being a requirement should tell you enough. Everything in the final game was made by people.

I hate AI as well, but the studio has since clarified that when they mentioned AI use, they meant that they tried it out way back in early development around 2020 or so, when AI was a thing everyone was playing with for fun. They decided it wasn’t for them, so they stopped using it very early on.

The first chance to avoid saying this publicly was when you started typing, the second was right before you hit “Post”. There’s still time to delete it.

The shitty thing is, that information didn’t become public knowledge until nearly a year after it launched and had already been lauded for being a fantastic game. It’s awful that GenAI was used in the concept art stage, but people can’t just erase the love they had for the game now.

Titanfall 2's campaign is nothing short of a masterpiece, and what a gift it was for all of us.

Such heart, incredible design, impeccable mechanics.

Nearly ten years later it more than holds up, it remains arguably the pinnacle of the genre.

If you've never played it, please do so.

Unfortunately this is kind of a broad issue with video game UI in general these days, especially Nintendo games. The UI have all become super clean and minimalist, with very little personality of their own. You rarely see flashy or stylized UI anymore outside of like, Atlus games and some indies.
