she/her. doing my best.
I'm no stranger to baseball-based disappointment, but this one - which I fully expected - feels worse than usual.

At a certain point, still being surprised when these people sock me right in the feelings is entirely on me.
No drop of thaw to be seen for miles and miles ...

Perhaps it's too early in the season to have gotten a Gobbler from Wawa, but since I completed storm prep (got groceries, went to home depot, fixed my fence, battened down various hatches) with plenty of time left to session prep for D&D tonight, yes, I do think I deserve a little treat.

This is such a good game, and I am so ... so tired. ⚾

I’m not a big “decant products into aesthetic bottles” person, but the mistake I just made vis a vis using rubbing alcohol when I meant to use witch hazel MAY push me in that direction.

I'm happy to even see a SLIVER of what I'm assuming is Game Changer crop art 💕
cc @treykerby.bsky.social @nodunksinc.bsky.social You are at the Minnesota State Fair crop art exhibit, meaning you have arrived.

Ope, saw one of mine here for the first time! Stay safe, everyone.
This is super-important, so have a little alt text:

Sometimes my dog looks like one of those 18th century specimens of an animal that the taxidermist had never actually seen alive, so they just did a lil guess.

The consistency with which @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social provides joy (among a whole panoply of emotions) via unexpected moments is astounding, and yet they're still finding new ways to get me every time. This week? The quiet, almost-mumbled snippet of 'Sumer is icumen in.' What a delight.

Fully stopped breathing during the last moments of today's @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social - I had no doubt it'd be worth the wait, but hot damn.

Things still bad. Gordie and I are ok and ready to go if required. Hoping my emergency radio is having a wonderful time wherever I apparently hid it from myself. www.nj.com/ocean/2025/0...

Keeping the curtains closed on a hot day is a good way to keep the house cool, and a BAD way to stay on top of whether or not there’s an ENORMOUS FIRE a town over.

Straight up: amazing news. Made my day.
Since #Passover starts tonight, here's your annual reminder that depending on how you interpret it, the Plague of Frogs might have only been one giant frog.

Before the plows came through, the only evidence of activity in this neighborhood was my bootprints, Gordon's pawprints, and shockingly-consistent 10-inch-long gouges in the snow every couple of feet where he had lowered his head to open-mouth bulldoze as much snow into his maw as would fit.

ahh! if you've never had this chance: CP is delightful, warm, stupidly hilarious, has world-class cast (Cumberbatch, who can do brilliant comedy, was doing it on his rest days from MCU movies because he loved it so much; also Roger Allam and Stephanie Cole!!) and I love it so much.
Looks like #CabinPressure is getting a re-run on BBC Sounds, which means it'll be available for an international audience!

If you want to hear Benedict Cumberbatch before he was Sherlock and a dragon, or if you just enjoy smart audio comedy, I heartily recommend it:
