Last night over Reykjavík's skyline. Simply magical to live with this in your skies.

What a time to have locked myself probably permanently out of Twitter by literally throwing my phone into a lake. New year, new me!

Anyone else have any connections at NASA to speak about that library being disposed of and if the internet archive can help find a home?

Ach shoot I ended up dropping my phone into Shoreline Park Lake today off a pedal boat. Just got back to WiFi. If you need to reach me…. *blub blub blub*

Doing 1990s nostalgia but it’s driving around with no phone and muttering “I swear that place must be around here somewhere closeby, I’m pretty sure…”

Does anyone know how I can get an STL of this car (Panhard CD LeMans 1964)?

I want to 3D print a HotWheels-scale model 😅

I’m ready for the sci-fi movie where we relive Y2K where the massive effort of humanity didn’t happen and explore the resulting mayhem — what actually would have happened?
The thing about Y2K is that it actual was a very real problem, it’s just that before the clock struck midnight that A LOT of very hardworking computer people had put A LOT of time and dedication into preventing it from happening.

Growing up with Calvin and Hobbes in the local paper was a real treat.
The final Calvin and Hobbes, which appeared in papers 30 years ago today.

So what’s the best way to ship, like, a couple of anvils across the US these days?

All the good software I know of for kids is from the 90s and idk how to run that stuff these days. I’m talking Super Munchers/Number Munchers, Mavis Teaches Typing, Rocky’s Boots, Treasure MathStorm, Encarta, KidPix heck even ClarisWorks…

what should be on my list in 2025?

I'm so used to Oakland business owners that I kept thinking this was a clip from a sci-fi novel.
WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.
Annex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanes
Stores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes ...

I’ve finally thought of an analogy that I like:

Parenting is like putting on a play.

Single parenting is tough because you have to do all of the costume and set changes, and even operate the curtains, all WHILE still acting in the play.

My kid is 4. Is he old enough for this to be his first theater movie 😭
For its 50th anniversary, the original theatrical cut of Star Wars will be released in theaters in Feb 2027 (maybe even IMAX). Han shoots first, no weirdly svelte Jabba. [gizmodo.com]
It’s Official: The Original Theatrical Cut of ‘Star Wars’ Is Coming Back to Theaters
Lucasfilm is celebrating the film’s 50th anniversary on February 17, 2027, in the best possible way.

I’ve been in physical therapy for a leg injury for the past few years and have now learned a lot about fascia release which is very cool. Overall I’m in much better shape now but having released the fascia now the original scar pain is back and I keep feeling like I’m getting stabbed, gosh it hurts.

I can’t just make lunch for my kid. He got shredded chicken with cumin-yogurt sauce, toasted diced sweet potatoes with ketchup, radish wedges in herbed soft cheese, carrots roasted in sea salt, olive oil and a touch of brown rice syrup, coconut chunks with cinnamon and limed jicama with tajin.

I finally unpacked my cast irons and my Dutch oven and it feels like welcoming home some good old friends. Truly jubilant they are BACK.
