Alright my list is actually mostly about the group of Americans, lol — I can’t believe how completely culturally symbolic that whole exchange was for both sides.

- the Norwegians not wishing to be bothered AT ALL, nor to have to speak English, and were probably shocked to be engaged yet felt obligated to respond all the same

For Icelandic Bluesky: are there typical Icelandic books that would be considered good “early readers”? We are going to be in the US for a while so I plan to buy as many books as I can to keep our language skills going.

He is reading stories that already offer concepts he doesn’t really grasp, for example: “the ant went in the bag. the bag was a trap” — he’s puzzled about the idea of a “trap” in a way that I think a 6-yo wouldn’t be? What books are even age-appropriate?
