Shit hole is probably the wrong term, I mean I liked it back then. Some good shops for buying cassettes, CDs, computer games. Underage drinking.
But it was rough, you had to know how to avoid any agro. Also very dirty and mostly in disrepair.

Trump’s behaviour both domestically and overseas, not least over Greenland is appalling. It exposes the myth of a special relationship with the United States. The UK has already paid a vast price for that illusion. Its future always was and still is, firmly European.

Just rediscovered this super image of Scarborough complete with the gas works chimney squashed in between Castle Hill and Sandside to the right of the image? Scarborough was a working port and harbour and needed to use the most up-to-date technology of the time, despite the limitations of the site.

Bought a new pair of white trainers for a recent holiday in gran canaria. After 10 days they were still clean. After 1 night in wakey town centre they were dirty, greasy and scummy on the soles. WMDC, clean up your streets, wakey pubs and restaurants, try harder. Please
