She had to do it, because the appeal can't be heard until Monday and the $ was due to be released on Saturday, which could have caused irreparable harm, had the government prevailed.

“Why would a prominent venture capitalist [Peter Thiel ally Marc Andreessen] bristle at a pope calling for basic ethics? Because Pope Leo XIV may be the one authority on earth that Big Tech cannot control.” 1/
A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI.

The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully.

It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.
Tech Billionaire Mocks Pope Leo’s AI Warning — and Reveals Silicon Valley’s Original Sin
A billionaire tech guru openly mocked Leo's call for moral AI — and quickly backtracked after backlash. It’s a telling collision of Silicon Valley hubris with a pope they cannot buy, bully, or ignore.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

The Evil Eight.
And they need to pay a heavy price.

1. @schumer.senate.gov needs to step down for failing to keep his party members in line.
2. A new @democrats.senate.gov
minority leader needs to punish the eight. Strip them of every position and perk.
3. @dscc.bsky.social needs to identify people to primary every one of them.
