I don't think i know the Redmond company any more. With so many people who stood for it gone. It was once my goal to work for them and I took great pride in what they did. As a company, for tech culture. No more, its all gone. Like many things we believe are gone. Pfft. Just gone.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale takes place in 1930 and is much better than the last Downton movie. Creator Julian Fellowes cuts back on the convoluted plotting and zeroes in on emotional dynamics.
After 6 seasons and 3 movies, 'Downton Abbey' bids farewell (or does it?)

I've posted two blogs on testing methods of reducing page latch contention. I set up some tables for testing here (www.sqljared.com/blog/page-la...), then tested several approaches and provided results here (www.sqljared.com/blog/page-la...). #sqlfamily #sqlblog
Page Latch Testing - sqljared
I want to test some methods for eliminating page latch waits. Let's set up a test environment with a few tables and make sure we get the waits we expect.

I ordered 7 apricots. 7 fruits. I got delivered 7 lbs of pluots. I don't even like pluots, and now am wondering what to do with 7 lbs of this thing. Thanks for the refund, Amazon, but what a terrible waste of fresh fruit.

I just wanted to say, I’m probably more proud of this Ted talk than just about anything I’ve ever done so I’m gonna be absolutely useless for the next couple of weeks as I promote the shit out of this because I want you to watch it because it matters in the moment we are in youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg
