She/Her. Little brown birds rock. Live from the mountains of Virginia, I'm yer basic pagan-y old forest creature.

Gen X, raised by traumatized parents whose own parents lived through the Great Depression. Liberal. Librarian since middle school.

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

Let's not forget - three decades ago, after the Soviet Union fell, Ukraine was the world's third largest nuclear power. Russia, France, the UK, and the US signed a memorandum with Ukraine assuring its security for acceding nuclear weapons. Russia violated that agreement in 2014. And again in 2022.

I hate dusting. More than hand-washing dishes. That said, how do I handle decluttering when I have "saved" pieces of furniture that are family heirlooms? Think 1920s, bought by my grands as they set up their newlywed household?

Somebody loves her day-after-Valentine's Day discounted mushroom dog toy. And yes, it squeaked. She destroyed it in about half an hour, which is about usual. #dogsky And my power is still out. My poor orchids got all excited when we had warm weather and several pit up flower spikes. Sigh.

Yay, more rain. 🙄 Power went out again yesterday, not even a full day after getting it back. At least I got my shower in 😊 Flooding on my road had subsided by this morning but may go up again with yet another day of rain.

Picture is of the road in front of my house yesterday afternoon.

At a time when President Trump is flirting with tariffs that could crush America's farmers, we need a Secretary of Agriculture who understands those communities. Not a right-wing think tank CEO. That's why I voted no on Brooke Rollins' nomination yesterday.

It seems the Trump administration may have been intending to keep up the farce that the trade hadn’t cost them anything: Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed Tuesday that Fogel’s freedom was “not in return for anything,” which is clearly not true.

I’m watching this attack on diversity and, maaaan, I have some thoughts about how people behaved when things were in PLACE. How they acted like there would be no backlash. How they acted like it was forever. How they didn’t prepare. I’ve been predicting this (ask my daughter).

Elon Musk now has access to your Social Security number. The world’s richest man has gained access to the confidential personal information of every taxpayer in the United States.
