Some people just seem to want to eliminate all potential sources of discomfort, no matter how small or innocuous, from their lives. Fiction allows you to model experiencing big emotions in a safe controlled setting, and I just don't think any good comes of avoiding that to this degree
A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.

These kittens have now broken two bowls on two separate occasions in their desperation to eat the food as immediately as possible. They're available for adoption, if anyone is interested in the hungriest boys on earth!

I just remembered (at 8 pm) that my dream last night involved someone who honestly believed that saying Beetlejuice three times would summon, but that I kept having to refer to him, so I started calling him Juicy Beetle to make them feel better?? I have never seen this film.

it's supposed to be good for socializing kittens to leave music, a podcast, a TV show, or something playing, to make them get kind of used to human voices. So I've decided to leave a speaker playing the audiobook of Piranesi, read by Chiwetel Ejiofor, for the lads tonight. Hope they like it!

today's fever dream: found an orange kitten with ringworm, his he has like a tonsure. Have to sneak him past the newly-elected pope, who is a woman. Lucrezia Borgia, who is Danielle from Ever After, is so angry that she isn't the first woman pope, that she poisons the pope, putting her in a coma.

My local colony of cats whom I help take care of has two kittens! I've been trying to help trap them, but they are tiny, extremely fast, and very wily and in this situation I am the bad guy in a loony tune.

After a lifetime of research, I've concluded that it is better to watch the movie first. If you read a book, you love it, and then watch the movie? Disappointment. Nuance! O, how I miss her!
But the other way? Exciting! Details that were cut from the movie? Deeper characterizations? Delight!
