So again I find myself in the position of thinking (1) his superpower is avoiding any and all accountability for anything, (2) that it would in fact be supremely ironic if a guy who courted Q Anon (and what hubris to do that given this) went down for this, and (3) I spell better than a billionaire.

Okay, (slight tmi warning) so I should get about two to two and a half paid days off a month because without that “useless medication” I would be curled up in a ball feeling like my insides were being squeezed like a dish towel. 🤷🏼‍♀️💵
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

I dislike the Liquid Glass stuff a lot less than most but, you know, I actually would like to know what time it is while I’m using an app. 😑

Finished the entire Foreigner series by CJ Cherryh (so far* 🤞) and I kind of want to go back and reread it now that I know what’s going on behind the scenes in the early books. But early days Bren is so ridiculous. I admire Banichi’s restraint in not throwing him through a wall.

You know, apropos of having random snippets of the soundtrack stuck in my head for weeks thanks to previews, the 2 saddest lines in the entire Wicked soundtrack are:

“And if I’m flying solo / at least I’m flying free”

and

“Well……isn’t it?”

(And all of “I’m Not That Girl.”)

This is a WILD swing in temperatures (autocorrect wanted to turn temperatures into hemlines and then Deborah’s 🤷🏼‍♀️)

We were at Disneyland the day of the Obergefell decision and it was so cool to see all the buildings in downtown LA lit up in rainbow lights. Even then, as obvious as it was, I was worried the court would go the other way. The court declining to hear the case today feels so surreal unexpected.

Took my brother to see the last performance of his very favorite parade until after the holiday season. Here he is dancing after the parade ended. 💗

The Complain About Grammar On The Internet And You Will Have a Typo curse strikes again. The word “who” should come before the word “copy.” 🤦‍♀️
I don’t know, obviously, copy edited the last (so far) of CJ Cherryh’s Foreigner series but they appear to not understand commas. Hmph.

Things we have seen driving to Disneyland for the last performance of my bro’s favorite parade til after the holidays: (1) a driverless Waymo taxi driving down the 405, (2) NOT the Goodyear Blimp off the 405, (3) an actual LAX peoplemover vehicle sitting at the station at LAX, & (4) a lovely sunset.

1. What the frak? (Hi BSG fans.)

2. What the frell? (Hi FS fans.)

3. Shouldn’t we maybe examine instead why people might be under such financial stress as to even consider charging your family for Thanksgiving dinner?????
Column: With Thanksgiving coming up, you may have noticed online posts about whether it's okay to charge guests for dinner.

It's part of a larger trend that, depending on your point of view, is either a major breach of etiquette or simply pragmatic.
Column | I’m on a budget but I want to host Thanksgiving dinner. Can I charge guests?
The trend of transferring financial responsibility from the host to the guest is turning fellowship into a monetary affair.

…I am an introvert. I am going to Not Shop There even more now. Good grief.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

I've bought generic containers of Legos for my class but I don’t think I’ve bought a specific Lego set since the castle I had as a kid (our Samoyed Poochie ate one of the pieces and apparently I was inconsolable).

And honestly Trek has never been about the ships for me.

BUT LITTLE LEGO SPOT!!!

Holy moly that picture of him standing there looking bored and irritated while everyone else in the room is helping the guy who fainted.

Apologies for bringing a post from the other place but it points out a symmetry I hadn’t even thought of.

When I was a kid, my dad took us to a Dodgers-Giants game and proceeded to play Dodgers announcer Vin Scully’s play-by-play on a little radio.

IN SAN FRANCISCO.

The guys behind us dumped a giant cup of beer all over me, which scared me.

But I was like 7 and not a law (?) enforcement officer.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."

I'm just happy for my many many friends in NYC that they will have a mayor who loves and understands the city and will try to make it a better place to live. he will surely have wins and losses, exceed expectations and disappoint bitterly. but he loves your weird city so much.

I’m happy for all the results tonight but I can’t help but feel a little defeated at the same time. This happened last time too. He got elected, people realized he was terrible, and then there was a huge swing blue.

But if you all had just had the magical power of remembering,

We have now reached the point in the AI ridiculousness that I just heard a podcast ad for an AI that helps you deal with mistakes caused by your business’s…AI. 😑

This is why I always hope the home team wins. I have no strong feelings about any sports team and my mild lingering fondness for the Dodgers is basically in memory of my dad.

That poor kid.

Probably a hot take but I don’t want an ENT continuation series unless they’re fully ready to grapple with how informed ENT was by War on Terror Any Means Necessary thinking.

I’ve largely come around on ENT but that part? I don’t like that part.

(Also Sim was morally WAY worse than Tuvix.)

I’ve never been a sports gal, but seeing this live on TV as a 10 year old is seared into my brain. The only other sports moment that came close was watching Kerri Strug’s vault live (especially b/c I’d recently badly hurt my ankle and knew how much it hurt).
