I started drafting THE HICKORY SWITCH on November 11 - exactly one month ago. The last book to fall out of my head like this was The Clackity, which I also wrote in exactly a month. The book I wrote before this took me six agonizing months. Who's to say how any of this works.

Congratulations @maryaverling.bsky.social ! Taking over the world one spooky book at a time!
Behold!! It's the gorgeously dreamy Russian edition cover for THE GHOSTS OF BITTERFLY BAY, which will be publishing with Eksmo soon!! It's such an honour to see my work translated into another language, and I'm so excited for Maudie's strange little story to reach more readers.

Reading graphic novels is reading. I loved comics as a kid and now I'm an avid reader of novels and an author. Give kids whatever books they want. #kidlit
My kids can never get enough graphic novels. Our local libraries all have graphic novel shelves, so I just check out a whole bunch. I also go through and request based on lists of new graphic novels (because the popular titles often aren't there). We buy the ones they loved and want to reread.

If you're shopping this Cyber Monday, why not order signed books from a fabulous indie bookstore? Psst, @phoenixbooks.biz has mine!

On the topic of moving, would any teachers/librarians or book club organizers be interested in class sets of EELGRASS BOG or BITTERFLY BAY? I have many spare hardcovers of both, and I'd love them to go to a loving home. I'd just ask for some help with shipping costs :)

Boosts appreciated!
