Voters in California: Please vote YES on Prop 50, the temporary redistricting measure to fight fire with fire against cheating by the radical right in other states. Deadline to vote and to send in your ballot is Tuesday, Nov 4.
Blue states redistricting to keep elections fairly competitive in the face of Trump actively trying to rig the 2026 & 2028 elections in all the red states IS democratic! For those in other blues states, tell your own state govs to fight the rig by redrawing their own maps to take more blue seats!

It’s time for new leadership in Washington, leadership that puts you over corporate special interests. That’s why I’m so grateful to have the support of End Citizens United as we work to fix this democracy and put government back on the side of the people.

Voting is the only way to get these ppl out. Dont stop voting. That’s quitting on all your neighbors and the younger generations, why would we do that? It’s not just about us.
After 2024 I decided my voting days are over. This solidifies that as a good decision. None of these people are honest or trying to help anyone but themselves.

This is the conclusion my husband and I reached. Maine is our Senator and we know him peripherally through friends. We think they take the hit, other Dems can wail and gnash their teeth publicly, people get paychecks and food and the Dems try to get subsidies worked out. Now, to be clear, I don’t

It is really too much of a coincidence to believe that they'd ALL be retiring or newly elected.

I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.
It’s a ruse.

I have come to believe this as well. The list is too strange. I don’t think a majority wanted to cave, but many more than the 8.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

Ouch. We at least have Tammy Duckworth to balance Durbin.
Speaking of which, I should call to thank her for standing firm. Positive reinforcement is as important, if not more important, as negative.

Eight Democrats just bent the knee to Trump, risking millions of Americans’ healthcare. This is a bad deal and Democrats need to be willing to fight and stand up to this authoritarian regime, no matter how painful that may be.

Republicans dont do anything they dont want to do regardless of how it looks.
Kaine says he thinks Johnson will have no choice but to take up the subsidies if it passes through the Senate. "And if it comes out of here bipartisan, he cannot not take it up without having November 2026 make November 2025 look like a picnic."
