Let’s be honest: in many of these winter Olympic “sports”, the snow is doing most of the work. An unexpected thaw would expose these so-called athletes for the frauds they are

I think it should probably be a bigger story that the president of the United States is a raving lunatic
Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast: "We hit 'em. And we want to hit 'em right, sir, and we want to hit them from the top! East, west, north, south. Sir, they won't know what the hell! And we'll knock them out. We did it politically correct. Five years."

This is anecdata but I’m in a lot of pregnancy/parenting discords and the number of women whose companies are doing big rounds of layoffs is… really genuinely very worrying

Today’s been a travel day which is always a tad stressful but I think about how soon I will be curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and a new episode of The Pitt and I feel profound peace

I’m not even saying this is a bad thing in normal times.

But it’s a huge problem when you have Republicans only nominating hellspawn fascist predators with infinite resources and a taste for human hearts dripping with viscera, and an electorate that pretty much either flips a coin or takes a nap.
Well, yes. But the problem is, no.

Democrats don’t elect sociopathically focused, relentless agenda pursuers. Democrats elect communicative empaths on the cool-to-warm spectrum with one or two solid big ideas and a bunch of readily compromised supporting solutions.

Near where we stayed in New York there was an incredibly bougie cheese shop that sold cheese boards to go and I got one, let me tell you having Amtrak Cheese is a real innovation in train vibes.

Was talking to a random nice older woman from East Isles last night and ICE came up. She then detailed, totally free of irony, her plan for reforming US government, which included the simultaneous mass execution of every leading member of the Trump administration, many of whom were mentioned by name

*from atop my hobby horse* We need a Star Trek that is a 24 episode season with the same budget as a season of Strange New Worlds
The Pitt got greenlit for a season 3, out next February, and the announcement has very funny comment from HBO chairman Casey Bloys that’s like “yeah, turns out if you just make a TV show like how we used to make TV shows you can have a 15+ episode season every year 🤷‍♂️”

Documentarian: Well, it's just -- the group dynamics, I guess.

Chotiner: I can see that. I can see finding Nandor, Laszlo and Nadia entertaining.

Documentarian: Exactly.

Chotiner: So. How many people did you watch them murder?
