The sitting president of the United States, Donald Trump, is completely out of touch with reality. Publicly demonstrating that his dementia has fully taken over his mind. Rambling, mumbling, confabulation, delusional, stuck in the past. He is mentally unfit, a danger to himself & the world.

Responsibility
Accountability

Republicans, the Republican Party, Republican voters and Republican supporters are responsible for Donald Trump. Donald Trump is responsible for the destruction of world order.

Explain this to your children.

Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), when asked by Anderson Cooper whether there was any hope for European leaders to “de-escalate” and “reason with the president” over his repeated threats to annex Greenland, said, “No, and I’ve been very clear. He is a madman. He is insane. He’s only thinking about himself”

Would be amazing if European leaders would also start throwing out truth bombs like this. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

I'll be honest, I have a huge amount of sympathy for Starmer and the rest of the European leaders having to deal with the unhinged man baby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It must be exhausting...

With that, and with much gratitude, I'm off to listen to more records x

If you were loud enough to tell us that Trump would be the best thing to happen to Britain since Magna Carta, then you don’t get to disappear with a “no comment” or a “but geopolitics” or a “no one could have possibly known.”

The Bear nails it.
I have a plan for this.

It basically includes pulling all these commentators into a studio with @mehdirhasan.bsky.social, @maitlis.bsky.social and/or @vicderbyshire.bsky.social and made to answer some pointed questions about where, exactly, that certainty came from.

Who else wants in?

This is (1) disgraceful at a moment of national danger, (2) laughably unserious and (3) deeply unwise when the President is obviously becoming incapacitated and the most unpopular person in the whole UK. Utterly disqualifying.

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

Suggested EU response:

- US airbases now represent an armed presence, inside our borders, of a nation that is openly threatening to invade our territory
- Withdraw the threat or we have no choice but to close those bases
- This turns USA from a global power to a regional one, overnight

Have been reading a lot of 'copium' recently from liberal Tories. They need reminding that it wasn't Messrs. Jenrick, Rosindell, and Kruger stopping Badenoch steering the Conservative Party back to a more sensible, less populist stance. It was Badenoch herself - and most of those around her.
