A girl with purple hair (most of the time). Elder millennial. Not as funny as I think I am - definitely weirder/more anxious. Opinions my own. Nerdy about: books (contemp. romance/RomComs), musical theatre, random fun facts, and Oxford commas.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

Got home from seeing a musical, and then there's this...

Immediately called and left messages for my Rep in the house. I am genuinely concerned that she's going to cave.
I'm so pissed. King, Shaheen, and Hassan put this together behind our backs. And Kaine, Cortez-Masto, Fetterman, Rosen, and Durbin went along with it.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

I need to stop letting my anxiety be such a bitch.

I convinced two of my best friends and my Sister-in-law to go to the greater Philadelphia area tomorrow for the sole purpose of visiting FOUR romance bookstores. It'll be a whole day trip - 2hrs, visit two bookstores in NJ, lunch, visit two bookstores in PA, 2 hrs home.

Suckers.

First things first, I'm absolutely fine now.
But today I came thisclose to passing out from a combination of dehydration and the heat (probably impacted a bit by my SSRI too). Drink water & stay out of the sun, y'all.
A story:

I was telling my therapist today about just a sliver of the things that are happening to people I love very much right now, and every new thing was just another pile of crap. She reminded me that right now, we all just have to pace ourselves. (And it's okay to dissociate every once in a while)

If the rapture happens today, I'll be at synagogue for Rosh Hashanah. I think that means I'm automatically excluded. Oh well.

There's a whole musical about it.
I just saw a TikTok like “the motivations of assassins don’t make sense anymore” but boy have they never.

Hinkley shot Reagan to impress Jodi Foster. Oswald was such a complete mess people just assume the CIA did it. Guiteau killed Garfield because no one would make him an ambassador.

Every once in a while it'd be great if people looked at a calendar and avoided scheduling events over major religious holidays. Especially when people would never think about scheduling something over Christmas or Easter.

Existing on various random corners of the internet (aka probably being too extremely online for my own good) is wild. I can understand why people get into conspiracy theories when you feel like you "know too much" and everyone else is blind.
