IMO, this is why I sort of hate most people by default. USAID, NIH, not having RFK Jr in charge of anything should have been easy things to rally behind and most people didn't fucking care. They shrugged. Fighting for a world where the vunerable don't fucking die needlessly is a low fucking bar.
We're so beyond anti-vax at this point. The Republican party is destroying government-led and funded public health, medicine, and science.

So there is a certain subset of the left that is very vocal here that I despise. I'll call them the reactionary left. You know who they are, they only care about politics through the lens of what tugs at the heart strings the most in the short-term. Last year it was Gaza.

My problem isn't MAGA, it's everyone else. That didn't stand up for the millions that are going to die because USAID was destroyed, didn't stand up for the millions that are going to die because NIH was gutted. You know what happens eventually if you don't fight back? People give up.

The real danger of people like Trump is that they undermine the truth. Why is that bad? Without experts we die. You don't want that. The Great Leap Forward famine is a great example of this. Have courage or you will regret it. To be anything but courageous in this moment is to enable death.
