Design of the CURE study which we hope will disentangle the etiologies and mechanisms of CKDu (beyond mesoamerican nephropathy - there’s one site in India too, though not Sri Lanka ) www.kireports.org/article/S246... in @kireports.bsky.social

Learned quite a lot about interactions, thresholds, and synergistic effects from @ashunephro.bsky.social in this analysis of albuminuria, heart failure, and CKD progression. Our findings emphasize albuminuria as a key biomarker for CKM health. 🫘

Delighted to share our study published in @jaccjournals.bsky.social led by @sophieclaudel.bsky.social. We demonstrated deleterious synergy between albuminuria and heart failure as risk factors for CKD progression.

Extremely grateful to @ahascience.bsky.social and @ashunephro.bsky.social for the opportunity to publish this comprehensive review on albuminuria in #Circulation. We cover albuminuria in the spectrum of #CKM disorders. Please take a look!

Very proud of our #BMCimRes internal medicine residents for coming up with this project idea and seeing it through to publication! We looked at current statin prescribing practices for young adults in the US and their CVD risk.

Excited to share this research letter looking at albuminuria values in healthy adults! We followed IFCC guidelines for establishing references ranges, which had not previously been shown in the literature, and consider what “normal” should be by sex.
We sought to quantify the upper limit of normal for albuminuria among US adults by the IFCC standard. Our study led by @sophieclaudel.bsky.social “Albuminuria References Ranges in Healthy US Adults”

Very proud of this project that started as a casual conversation on #CKM syndrome with @ashunephro.bsky.social over a year ago and is now in print at #JASN! Couldn’t have done it without @ashunephro.bsky.social teaching me about cumulative incidence curves in #NHANES.

The US DOT says it's planning to prioritize areas with high marriage & high birth rates for funding.

Our new analysis @urbaninstitute.bsky.social shows this would disproportionately fund:
—Communities with a higher white resident share
—Low-density areas
—High-income areas
—Car-dependent areas
DOT’s Plan to Distribute Funding by Birth and Marriage Rates Would Leave Communities Most In Need Behind
If enacted, the new US Department of Transportation memo would prioritize funding to whiter, higher-income, more car-dependent areas over communities of color and people who walk, bike, or take public...
