I review manga, anime, and other things over at www.fandompost.com! Used to make newspapers and greeting cards, always looking for another dying industry to chain myself to. Currently falling under through second floors in cursed houses. She/Her/Hey You.

Pro tip: anytime you see anything about newspapers and they say Gannett, they mean Gatehouse. Gatehouse purchased Gannett and shed their old name like a snake because it was so tainted. USA Today, Gannett… all the same VC company that bought all the papers and gutted them for property sales.

I really try not to think about the fate of the morgue at the paper I used to work at. The paper morgue only went back a year. The archives? It was extremely fragmented, undocumented. Where hence did those cds of photos go? Who knows…
“In 2019, as [Gannett] began fully moving operations out of the bldg, the entire collection—by then scattered across the basement—was suddenly in limbo… The Poughkeepsie Public Library stepped in, agreed to pay rent on a dedicated storage unit + took on physical custodianship of the archive…”
The Poughkeepsie Journal Photo Morgue and the Fight to Save Local History
The Poughkeepsie Journal photo morgue holds decades of unpublished images. Artists, scholars, and librarians are fighting to keep it from disappearing.

"I just wanted people to be able to appreciate in the United States, because I thought it was such a unique popular culture, sort of a further development of the grammar that was developed in the United States at the end of the 19th century, with comic newspapers, comic strips."

Cool death trap. None of this would fly here, code wise. Forget the fire stuff for a second, those curved stairs….. yikes.

Guess I'm not SURPISED the "Urban Rescue Ranch" guy is posing in Epstein's ziptop for social media, and calling people who point out that that's pretty fucked up "cringe."

Not really.

Boy, they certainly shot this season of Miss Scarlet with a finale season feeling. A good stopping point regardless, and I’m not sure where they'd go from here if they keep going. If this is the end, I’m okay with it.

"So who's the most famous person at your school?" is cleverer than "So what was your mother's maiden name" or "what street did you grow up on?" in terms of "let's get your security questions but be really fun about it" things.
