Marvellous artefact that formed part of the front of a canoe. Made of wood, the crocodile eyes are represented by fine china cups. Seen at the Museum of Anthropology in Cambridge. #happysaturday

Extraordinary man.

If you can, donate blood 🩸 it takes 30 mins and saves lives 🙏🏻
The most extraordinary thing about James Harrison, who donated his rare plasma every 2 weeks for over 60 years and saved the lives of an estimated 2.4 million babies, is that he had to overcome a FEAR OF NEEDLES.

By donating blood over 1,100 times, James Harrison helped develop Anti-D, a life-saving treatment for newborns at risk of Rhesus disease

This was so powerful - few of us can imagine the reality of having a family devastated by familial FTD - and the response of Jordan/Cian to their own risk is incredibly inspiring. Find them in instagram/TikTok as the FTD Brothers and follow their story…!
@alzheimersresearchuk.org supporter Jordan Adams opens our research conference.

Jordan speaks so passionately about his mum’s diagnosis and journey with Frontotemporal Dementia, his own risk of developing it and why he’s relentlessly raising money for dementia research.

Unbelievably inspiring 🧡

#dinkydoors Miniature sculpture (with doors), lovingly made and hidden just out of plain sight around Cambridge. This one can be seen in Downing Street Cambridge, which mimicks the real and famous one in London. There are many of them, and they represent cute petite portals into other worlds :)

I can not comprehend the size and scale of the observable universe: roughly 2 trillion galaxies, ~400 billion stars per galaxy (considering the size of the Milky Way). This is just the piece we can observe given the speed of light (it takes over 100,000 years to cross our galaxy! 🤯

Amazed by evolution and the creatures that preceded us, this one is called Megaloceros giganteus (aka 'Giant Irish Elk'), although they were not elk but deer and not specifically Irish either as their fossil remains have been found in EU and Asia 🤷‍♀️ but surely giantic (their antlers were 10ft wide!)🫣
