Happy new year. Interestingly, the temperature in the garden peaked at 6.6C at the stroke of midnight, the warmest it's been here since midday on Christmas Eve, and it's not forecast to be that warm again for a fortnight. It might even feel a little bit like proper winter for a bit.

@chartlifepod.bsky.social I'm looking forward to the personally uncharted (aha) territory of 1996, a time when I was way too busy studying hard to listen to the charts. Also, the first lines of PUSA's Lump, as well as Taylor Dayne's finest, are top examples of the heart/arse lyric swap subgenre.

Back from Ireland. Caught up with a few mates, including trips to Oranmore, Maynooth, Mullingar, but oddly not the centre of Dublin. We have apocalypse-level supplies of Brennan's, YR, Barry's, Lyon's, Kimberleys and YR, and I'm planning a sit-down now.

This year on Bluesky I wrote 545 posts and 779 replies. I received 1,589 likes, whereas 28 was from my most popular post, and apparently I love saying "totp" and 🐈!
