This is a fantastic story of how 20 years ago today London's bus drivers came to work after the 7/7 attacks, and made sure that Londoners could get home.
One other 7/7 thread today. Because I think how the bus network got running again is a real testament to some serious heroes that day:

The bus drivers and staff who got that network running again and got London home that night.

And TfL/the Mayor disobeyed the Security Services to make it happen /1

Amazing: MIT researchers revealed how ChatGPT etc are destroying our brains and booby-trapped the report to expose those who want to use AI to ostensibly summarize the results.

We tend to judge our own culture by the best it has to offer, while judging others’ by their worst.

It’s only by taking a long, hard look at the kind of thing our society tolerates that we get a true picture of our own culture.

Take a long, hard look at Gloucester City’s cheesy chips.
This account just posts food at British football stadiums and it's the most upsetting shit I've ever seen

Linda Yaccarino from X addressed the most senior people in the UK advertising industry last night.

One person described her talk to me as “brazen lies”, another said “it was like something from Black Mirror”.

It went down very badly away from the Fatherland.

Can’t stop thinking about the opening scene in the Godfather.

Making him humble himself, before agreeing to help bring justice to those who attacked his daughter.

I think it’s well understood that computers are unable to handle lots of things quickly.

That’s why you should always turn them off at the end of the day and let them rest overnight.

But paper never sleeps.
Trump: "I did ask Elon because he knows more about computers than anybody I know. I said, what do you think of the voting system? He said, computers are not meant for voting. It's too many transactions taking place too quickly."

The problem when you think “surely he didn’t post that?” and checking to see if a Musk post screenshot is authentic is the torrent of shit you have to wade through before you discover that, yes, he did post it- and it’s not even the worst thing he’s posted in the last 24 hours.

If the government, with opposition support, doesn't close loopholes in political funding that allow Musk and others to buy influence, then they are idiots.

Advertising works - and the rise of online video means that reforming political spending rules in Britain is urgent.

Bias in writing is like accents in speaking- you can have all sorts, but you can’t have none, and if you think someone doesn’t have one, it just means they share your own.
