What if, hear me out, we supported the researchers we already have (myself & my colleagues included) who are struggling to find finding & research positions as it is, & are frequently looking outside the continent for actual opportunities?
I've been having SO MUCH FUN reading this book by @jbensonink.bsky.social! Only about 100 pages in... But I can't stop giggling and kicking my feet. This is exactly what I needed! (I also need to be friends with Ellie and Constance)

“We lived here happily for generations.” On the Day of Commemoration of the Great Upheaval, we recognize the tragic events of the Acadian Expulsion and celebrate the resilience of the Acadian community who are still a vibrant part of Canadian culture.
Heritage Minutes: Acadian Deportation
The Acadians are descendants of early French settlers who arrived in Nova Scotia in 1604 and built a distinct culture and society over generations. Their peaceful existence was uprooted in 1755 when over 10,000 Acadians were ripped from their homeland to ensure British rule in North America. This Heritage Minute portrays the deportation through the eyes of an Acadian mother.
