Nathan.

He/Him. 🟥🟨🟦

Being weird on social media since 2007, and no plans to stop now.

"So, face forward and keep going."
Pinned
I finish with a plea.

If you work in IT or web, then, with all the greatest respect in the world (because I've been there), I say to you:

STOP MAKING THINGS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY GOOD INTO A PILE OF UTTER SHIT. STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT.

Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day.

If the areas of Aberystwyth mentioned are the ones I'm thinking of, it's actually a sensible idea to raise the limit to 30.
Especially if it's the stretch of the A487 going up Penglais Hill.
Speed limit could be lowered to 20mph on dozens of roads
The country's default speed limit in residential areas was lowered from 30mph (48 km/h) in 2023.

I bloody love "All Over The World" by ELO, not least because it goes straight from "Monte Carlo" to "Shard End".

Watching that Green Party political broadcast and all I can think is:
1) "I'm sure my Nan had that carpet in her dining room"
2) "I remember seeing that mantel clock for sale in Argos"

No, these are not complaints...

(again, posted with permission)

Appointment done.

Criteria for gender incogruence met with no concerns or doubts at all.

2nd appointment in about 4 months time.

The first step has been completed.

I'm so, so, so proud of them

It's something of a very important day for Kit today - it's their first appointment with the GIC.

Please send all possible good wishes and warm thoughts their way, they are somewhat nervous as you can probably imagine.

And OH MY THE TIMING ON THIS TODAY actually physically hurts.

I may still be somewhat salty about this, but let's just say that it probably would have happened today if not back in October.

I'm trying not to fall back on stereotypes at this point, but it's not easy.
(These messages brought to you by a recently-dismissed-from-their-last-place-of-work-and-is-still-somewhat-salty-about-it-even-though-they-know-that-if-they'd-stayed-there-it-woud-be-ten-times-worse-because-ugh codemonkey who is somewhat annoyed by the whole situation)

Hey, companies who use software for supplying staff with their payslips etc:

How about having an option to allow members of staff who have left your employ to still access/download their final payslips, so they don't have to keep chasing up HR, because it's downright bloody frustrating.

I'm disappointed that, when Richard asked today's first Popmasterer why they gave up the maths, the contestant didn't reply "because it just wasn't adding up, Richard".

Paddington will now face Stenhousemuir in the finals, whereas Gladiator will take on Meadowbank Thistle in the third-place play-offs
February 18, 2026 at 9:28 AM
This is, in my opinion, the best version.

This is a stone cold banger and I will take no further questions on the matter.

Oh, anyone saying "Look Mum, no points!", will find me at their house to discuss, in excruciating detail, the changes to the telephone numbering system in Halifax, with particular attention to how Sowerby Bridge was part of the main LNS despite being a totally separate town.

So, think on!
That's interesting... I've been watching this guy on YT for a while as he does some really interesting stuff with old tech, and Kit bought me a subscription to his Patreon for Valentines Day

Ah, this must be how Youtube decide to make changes, like removing the sodding "order video by upload date" feature (yes, I'm still annoyed about it)

More interesting and even positive news coming today.

While it's not a full return of (the very much missed) Vinyl Revival from BBC Local Radio, it's the closest thing we're likely to get to it.

If you happen to be in or near Paignton on Wednesday 12th August, WHY NOT COME AND HEAR ME TALK at the Torbay Literary Festival? Why not, indeed? I'm not the sole attraction. The night before, it's Biggins. Then later on Wednesday, Melvyn Hayes. Glory be.

Tenancy renewal time again. Still genuinely amazed that, in the 11 years we have been here, our landlord has only raised the rent once.

(Yes, he's a landlord so obviously he's the scum of the earth and deserves to be disembowelled)
