The best advice I ever received was from an elderly man in Huddersfield where ice on pavements is a regular occurrence: wear socks over your shoes. It works so well.

Agree with every word.

Almost exactly a decade ago I was absentmindedly looking at hashtags on Twitter and saw #oregonstandoff. And so began my obsession with US politics.
And thus began our decade of white men openly, brazenly and vigorously doing crimes and getting away with it.

Bafflingly there are still people out there in the world who think being passionate about nature is “kind of weird”. or “a niche interest”. These people have it all wrong. Nature isn’t some quirky sideline to the main business. It IS the main business. Nature is us.

The Daily Mail doesn’t link to the report they say is calling for an end to exams. It isn’t something I recognise. Exams are seen globally as a contributor to awarding gaps - not just relating to ethnicity - but we haven’t called for an end of them. A mix of assessment is needed.

We’ve made it into the Daily Mail!

Daz says happy birthday. He’s enjoying being 10 too.

I’m biased but I think Daz looks so good in his cold weather coat.

Love this song

Watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the umpteenth time today. My favourite film of all time. Sang along to every word and laughed in advance to what I knew was coming. From the ashes of disaster come the roses of success!

Love the way she turns around to take back her Rabbit as soon as she can.

The AI in this case is, I think, machine learning, which is not the same as the LLMs in things like ChatGPT

A bit more familiarity with what AI means (myself included here) and we’d be better at telling good from poisonous uses

Daz was having difficulty getting in and out of cars and going up stairs when he was 9ish. We tried collagen powder on his food and it was miraculous. He’s getting stiffer again now at 10, tripping now and then and even doing the splits when running. Vet checkup yesterday suggested daily paracetamol
