I love this so much...
In early 2015 I built my first woodworking bench. My first project was building a small sailboat. But in the process of building the sailboat I became so drawn to woodworking that I stopped in the middle to build the bench. Story here on the sailboat. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/build...

Its great that @jamiemorton.bsky.social is highlighting the fact that scientists are starting to focus more on soil biology.

However, soil isn't "non-renewable". Regenerative farming practices can build soil and sequester carbon in the process.
Week in Review:
Soil provides the food we eat, the clean water we drink, and the stable land we build upon – yet national stock takes suggest its health is under serious strain.
Soil is much more than just a dirty word

Listen to the sound of New Zealand ingenuity in action.
Hamilton jets and twin carbon fibre hulls allow our country's newest electric ferry to slice through the water efficiently, all without a single droplet of Victorian-era diesel. Runs on renewable Ecotricity power too! The future is here. 💪🔋

'Green bans' saved Sydney's historic buildings and taught economists a lesson
The "green bans" in the 1970s saved many of Australia's historic buildings and our cities are richer for them. But a famous economist didn't like them.
