Part of the reason I think there isn’t as much pressure around stopping ChatGPT re: suicide/psychosis as compared to stuff like Panera Lemonade is because people are inclined to blame it on mental illness versus the tech, a kind of victim-blaming mentality that fits neatly into just world fallacy

Mind you, Mamdani is not the only person to be different and try in recent history. Baltimore is an example of that too. They keep trying to convince us these are one offs and flashes in the pan that could/would never happen again bc they want to kill our hope and the drive to try that it creates.

If yesterday taught us anything, it’s that you don’t know what’s viable or what’s possible til you at least try. We actually don’t have to take what we’re given. If enough of us get together and touch and agree we can do, create, and have better.
