from what i saw with interviews of Latino Trump supporters, the vibe they gave reeked of Classism. They saw themselves as "not like THOSE Latinos, the ones who didn't make it to the US" so they assumed so long as they aligned with Trump they'd be safe because "better them then me" mentality.
