Just some asshole talking to himself on the internet. Focused on: games, anime, books, some tech stuff, Black shit.
Pinned
I did a random post on Elno and almost doubled my follower count. If you're new, I talk about games, anime, and tech. I'm black and talk about black shit. I lean Left politically. Some folks rock with the nerdy and progressive shit and dip when the black comes out. This is your only warning.
One of my most fun summer memories as a child is thanks to another Blerd. Lonnie Johnson was an aerospace engineer at NASA. He invented the Super Soaker in 1989. If you don't know what that is, your childhood sucked.

He also worked on various Nerf products.

The same joy I felt finding out about Mike Pondsmith is the same joy I feel finding out about Jerry Lawson. Blerds FTW!
I want to take a moment to honor the late Jerry Lawson, the Electronic Engineer who led the design of the 'Fairchild Channel F' console and also designed the FIRST interchangeable game (ROM) cartridges.

The game industry wouldn't be what it is today without Jerry's brilliance. (cont..)

Let me get this straight:
1. Store every agent's API key in a database that is open by default
2. Don't bother enabling basic security features of that database
3. Act surprised when anyone can take control of anyone else's AI agent

Idiots.

Quote with a game you like but everyone else hates.

Hate is a strong word, but comparatively speaking, when everyone I knew was playing StarCraft I was playing this instead. One of my friends called it 'an inferior StarCraft clone'

No. But I experienced something that when I look back at it was quite messed up and probably racist.

I went to 4th - 6th grade in the South. Before that, I had lived overseas and attended int'l schools. I was used to rigorous and multilingual learning

When we moved to the South/1
Have you ever been suspended from school?

The Pitt is probably the best medical drama I've watched. Binged the first season. I'm old enough to remember watching the pilot episode of ER when it aired so it's nice to see Noah Wylie come full circle.

What folks forget is video games are art and a form of human expression. The designers/makers of good games know this; the cash grabbers do not.
This used to be normal, now it’s a feature.

The one I remember was when I was 4 when we flew to the UK. My parents told me it would be like a long bus ride in the sky.
How old were you when you took your first flight?

We live in the dumbest timeline. Can I move to Earth-616?
In a note to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, President Donald Trump blamed Norway for not awarding him with the Nobel Peace Prize and linked that with his interest in obtaining "complete and total control of Greenland."

Over / under on root cause of the Verizon outage being a single line of code that caused a process to stall without actually terminating or panicking?

I really liked this film. However, I don't think doing Sicario in real life is good foreign or anti-drug policy. But apparently our stupid president is talking about striking cartels in Mexico.

We live in the dumbest timeline.

I was today years old when I learned Mike Pondsmith is the creator of Cyberpunk. A Black dude from Santa Cruz! Started his own gaming company in 1985 and released the first Cyberpunk TTRPG in 1988. Cyberpunk was his baby inspired by his love of anime and Blade Runner.

In 2019. RFK Jr killed 79 kids in Samoa by spreading vaccine misinformation that caused extreme vaccine hesitancy. 79 kids who never should have caught measles got it and died. 6000 people had it by 2020. He back pedalled when the bodies started piling up. Fuck. That. Guy.
It’s official: RFK Jr has officially reduced recommended childhood vaccines from 17 to 11, removing universal vaccine recommendations for RSV, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, dengue and two types of bacterial meningitis.

This reckless contravention of science is going to kill people.

Not sure folks appreciate how subversive the original Mission Impossible TV show was. In the pilot episode in 1966, when Ethan Hunt assembled his team for the very first mission, he picked Barney Collier, an electronics expert - a Black man. Portrayed as highly skilled, tough, and a competent spy.
some of y'all never watched Mission Impossible tv show and it shows.

you knew who America was trying to police every season. y'all saw the plots to prevent transfers of power and vote rigging!

So hear me out. I'm excited about Horizon 3 and Nemesis and all that, but the next Horizon game should actually be about Rost and his Death Seeker mission. If done well, it would be a compelling story/game.

Does Iraq count? Heard the pop-pop-pop but it was too far away so we knew it wasn't effective fire. We found out later they weren't shooting at us. They were celebrating the national team winning a football match by shooting their weapons in the air. 🙃
Yall ever been somewhere and they started shooting??…. I’ll never forget one time in college someone started shooting…. You would’ve swore I was Usain Bolt running away

Ooh.... this is hard.

4 games that defined my 2025. Had a preem time with my chooms. Then spent a ton of time in feudal Japan. And then I spent a good chunk of time fighting the Nazis (just in case that's a thing we have to do again...)
