‘Denim’ gets its name from the French words ‘de Nĭmes’ meaning "of Nĭmes," because it was manufactured in the city of Nĭmes.

‘Jeans’ comes from the city of Genoa (earlier known as Genes) because the pants were worn by the Genoese navy.

'JNCO' means “Judge None Choose One."

If you don't have a library card, you should get a library card. Once you have that library card, you should get the Libby app. Once you get the Libby app, go browse the newsstand. Good chance your library card gives you access to ALL THE MAGAZINES. I'm talking the real good shit. AND BACK ISSUES.

When I was in elementary school, they taught us how to make paper snowflakes. While very pretty, I never saw real snowflakes that looked like our creations, until today. They were so BIG, floating by the balcony - I was mesmerized for those few minutes. The wonder of winter.

@theabingdontaxi.bsky.social This is my nephew, #3 breaking through the banner Friday night prior to state championship playoffs (they won). Team's smallest guy, but a steady holder for the Pirates. They were 10-0 in regular season. BTW, he walked for the first time at my place. Look at him now.

PSA: Don't place all your confidence in search engines when it comes to finding an interesting read. Looking for women's autobiographies led to dozens of titles by men. Apparently search engines can't understand what "AUTObiography" means.

Some older ways are just better.
I find it interesting that backlash to tech companies is leading people to seek analog experiences. Vinyl, demanding buttons in cars, the explosion in popularity of fountain pens. I’m not immune; I got a mechanical keyboard and my productivity quadrupled and I felt more satisfied with it.

Sounds like somebody is getting supplied with lies. How these people sleep at night is beyond me.
Speaker Johnson on House Republicans and the 6th week of recess: "They are having some of the most meaningful interactions at a time of great crisis with their constituents that they've ever had. And that's really, really important. So I don't want to pull them away from that work right now."
