You're welcome! Borrowed it from the library then bought it. Lots of information about The Met, yes, but also lots of wisdom. Reminds me of my favorite book, "Working: People Talk about What They Do All Day and How They Feel about What They Do" by Studs Terkel, a Chicago author and broadcaster.

This is a mostly open concept place, so the humidifier sets on the kitchen counter. That's central enough for ~700 sq ft out of 900. Pic is from dining area.

P.S. I got one without a filter to avoid mildew problems and white dust. My allergies are happy.

Cool mist humidifiers work wonders in the dry heat. Sounds odd, but a maintenance guy here suggested it 2 yrs ago to keep down dust in this all-electric apt, so I bought one meant for a baby's room (quiet, small). Total game changer, plus it makes the air warmer bc humidity.
