So, apparently, we currently have multiple ongoing attempts by foreign actors to influence the upcoming elections in Australia:

- Meta
- X
- Tiktok
- Murdoch
- Israel?

Our biggest issues start with the media. It will keep getting worse until and unless our pollies show some spine.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, I strongly recommend the livestream of the corpse flower at Sydney Botanic Gardens on YouTube. There are currently 1,500 people in chat waiting for a flower to open, and occasionally claiming that it definitely has moved this time.

It's fear that drives the lust for power.

It's hard, it takes more courage than I've got a lot of the time, but love is the cure.

Apparently the ‘5 big climate issues’ don’t include:

the major parties support for new gas & coal mines

their joint support for $14 billion in fossil fuel subsidies

Or the need to collect more tax from the gas industry.

Ignoring fossil fuels is climate denial

Check out this result & let me know what you think. Dave Osmond has been running a near real time simulation of a 100% grid for Australia for years by rescaling wind & solar capacity w/ a 1 week lag & minimal storage. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🔋 bsky.app/profile/davi...
Thread: Each week I run a simulation of Australia’s main electricity grid using rescaled generation data to show that it can get very close to 100% renewable electricity with 24GW/120GWh of storage (5 hrs at av demand)
Results:
Last week: 100% RE
Last 176 weeks: 98.6% RE (1/5)
