Welp. Vaccine access is only the start of what’s at stake.
RFK Jr.'s HHS Secretary confirmation means he'll oversee Medicare, Medicaid/CHIP, and Marketplace health coverage as well as crucial public health agencies like the CDC, NIH, & FDA. He was confirmed despite making it clear in his hearings that he doesn't understand the programs he'll be overseeing.

The 10-year-plan will say what we all expect. The problem, as with the last 10 plans, will be implementation and that is going to cost a lot on top of the existing system. We lack the staff. We lack the change ability. Good read from the Nuff here:

Proud to be part of this work with @nuffieldtrust.bsky.social + @fnightingalef.bsky.social colleagues.

Main takeaway: there’s much to improve about how we train midwives and nurses in the UK. Our standards have some unintended consequences and are ripe for rethinking.
